Full course description

This is approximately a 2-hour, self-paced course that will help Community Health Workers (CHW) or other professionals recognize trauma that may have occurred in their life and in the lives of others. The course provides an overview of programs available to help individuals and general guidelines on how to respond in a crisis. It stresses the importance of work-life balance, provides strategies to avoid vicarious trauma and burnout, and gives specific suggestions on how to maintain wellness. It also covers the core principles of providing Trauma Informed Care and how the CHW can be integrated.

The CHW and any other professionals will walk away with tools to know how to respond to trauma, how to maintain personal wellness, and recognize when a situation requires others to assist.
