Documentation Using Floor Books

Course Description

Listening to children’s voices is an essential part of creating meaningful curriculum in your classroom. Floor books are “tools to truly consult with children during the planning and documentation process.” Developed by Claire Warden, Floors books “encourage higher order thinking skills and help children influence their learning.” Join us to learn how floor books can transform your documentation practice and give children a voice in your curriculum.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn about the process of documenting children's thoughts, ideas about their learning through the use of floor books.  
  2. Participants will practice using observational tools to capture children;'s experiences and learning moments.  
  3. Participants will leave with a plan for using authentic documentation in their own practice.
