Full course description

When people are involved in deliberation and their voices heard, it creates buy-in and builds a positive relationship, often with community institutions, organizations, or various levels of government. It is the difference between “doing something to a community” vs. “doing something with a community.” Individuals will participate in three levels of learning to obtain a CD Badge: Module 1 - Participants will have a greater understanding of community engagement practices, identify opportunities and barriers to engagement. Module 2 – Participants will understand the levels of IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation and gain insights into the significance of different participation levels and how they are used in public engagement. Module 3 – Participants will learn best practices and techniques to assist with facilitation of community conversations and decision-making.
