Course Description

This course explores the intersection of leadership in public education and the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI). Designed for future educational leaders, administrators, and policymakers, the course examines how AI technologies can enhance decision-making, equity, and efficiency in public education systems. This three module course will aid learners in understanding the role leadership plays in the school environment and develop their own distinct leadership styles. Additionally learners will explore the uses, viewpoints and needs of teachers and students in AI.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify their personal leadership style and how their leadership style can impact the success of the initiative. 
  2. Analyze how positive and negative leadership styles can impact the success or failure of change initiatives. 
  3. Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, concerns, etc., of student AI use in the school setting. 
  4. Prioritize and plan for what teachers need to know about the student use of AI in order to become effective leaders for their students. 
  5. Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, concerns, etc., of teacher use of AI in the school setting. 
  6. Recommend specific actions that need to be taken to address weaknesses and/or concerns about teacher use of AI. ule 1 Leadership Styles
