Course Description

This course focuses on evidence-based assessment and treatment of severe mental illness in children and adolescents. Strategies to effectively integrate family and the education system are discussed. There is a focus on navigating conversations surrounding mental health in the digital age.

Learning Objectives

  1. Demonstrate ability to describe evidence-based practices for assessing childhood and adolescent mental health concerns.
  2. Demonstrate ability to describe evidence-based practices for treating childhood and adolescent mental health concerns with an ecological approach.
  3. Identify tools for effectively navigating the impact of social media on the perception of mental health diagnoses.
